My cat is stressed out. We are getting ready to move at the end of the month, so packing abounds! There are boxes and semi organized piles everywhere. Quite a few items have left the building! I have given a bunch of stuff away and apparently she misses it. I don’t know why; I didn’t give away ANY of her stuff. When I get home from work she meows loudly at me and runs crazily through the apartment. I keep telling her everything will be fine but I don’t think she believes me. I think she is mad. Almost every time I walk by she takes a swipe at me…I have learned to take a wide berth when passing her! The last time we moved she spent two nights meowing (crying?). The move will be over soon…then she gets to go the Vet for her yearly checkup…I think I will invest in a suit of armor!

Wisdom prevails, Mary Lee. Sounds like you're on to something. If you feel so inclined to invest, you may save a few bucks by borrowing Daniel's light saber and is breastplate of righteousness shield!

Cats are mercurial creatures and they love their routines. Marmalade may not be happy for a while, but she will adjust. With my cat Neil, I sometimes need to be assertive when he tries to dominate me, so I hiss at him. This was suggested by a friend of mine who is an animal lover and it works very well. It doesn't bother him and he respects me more now :-)

My cats all know the routine around our house, and George, my big goofball, knows that when Hubs & I are both getting dressed at the same time, that means we're gonna be leaving the house all day, and he throws a fit! Every. Single. Time. So, once you get moved, your kitty should be just fine. Until you go to the vet, that is. And, after you're done with that trip, can I please borrow your suit of armor for when I have to take Miss Cali Cat to her doctor again!
Have a great weekend. :-) Brenda

I hissed at my cat yesterday...she got all puffy, gave me the "evil eye" and meowed REALLY loud...I think she was laughing at me and wasn't intimitdated at all!
